MauzoTrack Privacy Policy

Introduction

MauzoTrack is a business management app for shopkeepers and small businesses, operated by Tanzanite Digital. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices you have over your data.

By creating an account or using MauzoTrack on the web or mobile, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account data

Your name, email address, phone number, business name, role, and language preference, plus authentication details such as a hashed PIN and session tokens.

Business data

Information you enter to run your business: sales transactions, products and inventory, customer and supplier records, expenses, and financial summaries. This data belongs to you; we process it on your behalf to operate the service.

Device data

Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and (if you opt in to notifications) a push notification token.

Usage data

How you interact with the app — features used, pages visited, and error and performance diagnostics — which we use to improve reliability and the product.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate MauzoTrack, including dashboards, inventory sync, and AI-generated insights.
• To authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To send transactional notifications such as low-stock alerts, closing reminders, and payment reminders.
• To respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
• To analyze usage and improve the performance and features of the app.
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in our database hosted by Supabase, encrypted at rest. All data transmitted between your device and our servers is protected in transit using TLS encryption. We apply role-based access controls and row-level security to limit access to your data, and we maintain regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate MauzoTrack:

• Supabase — database, authentication, storage, and backend functions.
• Google Play Services — app distribution, integrity, and core mobile services.
• Anthropic API — generates written AI insights from summary statistics of your business data. We do not send personal customer information, and this data is not used to train AI models.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications, only if you opt in.

These providers process data under their own data protection agreements and only for the purposes described above.

User Rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. You can:

• Access and export your data at any time from within the app.
• Correct inaccurate account or business information.
• Delete your account and associated data using the in-app delete-account feature.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly within MauzoTrack. Open Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirm. Deleting your account permanently removes your personal and business data from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, financial records under applicable tax law). Children's Privacy

MauzoTrack is a business tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

International Data Transfers

We operate from Tanzania and use service providers that may store and process data in other countries, including the European Union. Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards and our providers' data protection commitments to keep your information protected to the standard described in this policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you in-app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of MauzoTrack after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
